College Station Texas

Texas Central has decided to develop and operate as a full-time college in the College Station area of Texas. Bryan College was inhabited by Louisiana transplants who moved to the city after Hurricane Katrina, and the school is commonly referred to as Aggieland. Students are referred to as "Aggies" because of their rich history in agricultural education, but the college is widely known for its stomping grounds, the University of Central Texas College of Agriculture and Technology.

With a huge selection of hotels and restaurants, this area is a popular tourist destination in Texas. Texas A & M University College Station Business District was founded in Bryan, College Station, in 1910. The city grew under the leadership of Ernest Langford, who was dubbed the "father of College Station" and began a 26-year term as mayor in 1942. He was elected mayor for the first time in his life and served from 1942 to 1953, during which time he focused on the development of urban services through economic expansion over the next 26-6 years.

That same year, the remaining faculty living on campus were told to move, and the need for housing in College Station continued to grow.
